Nov 2nd: London Police Chief Gets Away With Murder

London's Metropolitan Police Force have finally been found guilty after the tube shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes. Not of murder though, but of "breaking health and safety regulations". Only in Britain could such a judicial farce be given any official credence.

As a result, the Metropolitan Police Force have been fined around £500,000, including court costs. And who exactly pays this fine? Us, the taxpayers! We have to pay for a cold-blooded state execution of one of our own. Even George Orwell couldnt make this up.

This verdict is sick, venal and corrupt. No one is prosecuted. Sir Ian Blair, chief of the Met, even gets to stays on his job. It's business as usual. Except that not only are the family and friends of Jean Charles De Menezes denied justice but state complicity with the yellow media have contrived to smear the name of the innocent person they killed.

The British state tried to doctor photographs to make De Menezes look like a convicted terrorist. They leaked stories to the tabloids about his alleged cocaine use. They even leaked stories questioning whether De Menezes had legal status in the UK. Utterly despicable.

There WAS state complicity. For example on 29th July 2005 The Scotsman reported: "Last night, the Home Office indicated that the student visa of Mr de Menezes expired more than two years before he was shot. The government also issued a statement which appeared to indicate Mr de Menezes had a forged stamp in his passport."

I also remember Sir Ian Blair being on BBC1's Question Time (28th July 2005) just after Jean Charles De Menezes was shot. (Check the Programme Synopsis and Comments to see the way the BBC marginalised/played down this state execution and manipulated their own viewers).

In this astonishingly dishonest peformance that would be gobsmacking if shown again (YouTube anyone?), Blair lied through his teeth and attempted a gross deception on the public. The BBC should re-run that programme now that the facts have been brought into the public domain. Let the public see how a top police officer acts when he's trying to cover up a state execution.

The buck always stops at the top. Which means if there was any justice Sir Ian Blair would be charged with murder, and with attempting to pervert the course of justice, rather than this health and safety charade. But the words Britain and Justice don't seem to go together.

WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET THESE ATTEMPTED SMEARS:

De Menezes 'behaved like a suicide bomber' (Daily Telegraph, 29 Oct 2007)
'Cocaine in De Menezes Urine' (The Sun, 16 Oct 2007)
De Menezes looked aggressive, defence lawyer tells jury (Guardian, 26 Oct 2007)
Menezes picture 'manipulated' to look like bomber (Independent, 18 Oct 2007)
Puzzle over shot Brazilian's British visa as his body is flown back to grieving family (Daily Telegraph, 29 July 2005)

AND NOT FORGETTING THE ATTEMPTED BRIBE/HUSH MONEY:

We don't want your $1m (Daily Mail, 20 Aug 2005)

Not likely to either. The BBC will always take the official state line on everything.
